Act 1, scene 2: Lord Capulet and Paris are talking at
the start of this scene, and Paris brings up Juliet, Lord Capulet's
daughter. Paris wants to marry her. Lord Capulet tells Paris that he
can try to win the love of Juliet, and if he does that, they can be married.
Then, Lord Capulet has his servant take a list of names of
people to be invited to a party, and remind everyone on it to come. The
problem though, is that the servant cant read. He ends up running into
Romeo and Benvolio, who gladly read the names off. Benvolio, seeing a good
opportunity, tells Romeo he should go, so he can find someone better than
Rosaline. |
