Music on T.V.

We have around four sources for music on television, and all of them suck ass.... Most of the time..

Well well well..... The only four channels that we have in the Philippines are MYX, MTV(Asia, Philippines, and for some reason India), UnTV, and the Karaoke channels. Lets focus on the first three..

1) MYX- A channel "run" by studio 23, along with Virgin records (they don't have virgin record stores in the philippines). First of all the majority of the air time is packed with RAP AND R&B (I was watching the urban MYX portion for the first and probably last time , I saw the destiny's child video: nasty ass or something, and there's a slip-up there.... near the end you may notice one of the girls there forgot to take off the price tag off her jeans...Were they planning on returning it?) And Second VJs there really really SUCK ASS (They're better off not wasting the only 30 minuites a day with their "knowledge" of rock music) The only up side to MYX is I saw a music video of wolfgang(who are local), and the song is called "weightless"(which one of my friends USED TO claim banned.. Hmmmm....)

2) MTV- Now JUST like MYX, MTV is full of pop and R&B and rap. Just like all other countries, there are many people that are against it. Their VJs are pretty stupid, but more convincing than the MYX people.Shows like the Osbournes, Jackass and Beavis & Butthead are their saving graces. I guess everything other than that is pretty much the same with MYX.. Oh yeah one more thing, I know there is an "MTV2" which is better(but more expensive) than MTV, but the the slogan of MTVPhils is: "There is only ONE... MTV".

3)Untv- A really great channel that plays almost any type of rock song... Which becomes problem sometimes.. They may not play any teenie bopper or rap music, but they play one hell of a lot of rock, the good stuff and the stuff you would rather not hear (which is mostly euro), even though you really can't avoid it, since nobody else would play it. That's what they do, i guess... Play stuff the minority like....Another good thing with UnTV is that they are closer to phil bands(when it comes to interviews, concerts and new bands)Anyways, the positives overpower the negatives when you add in the thought of not having to listen to pop or rap...

I guess to wrap it all up, Yep..... You guessed it... We're hopeless when it comes to getting to see the music videos we(or I) want.. And forever hopeless we shall be... Forever... Or until the moon falls from the sky and kills us all..
