HISTORY OF DARUL HANAN

'Darul Hanan' means 'House of Love' is an orphanage and poor handling involved Association, a non-governmental organization (NGO) independent.

Darul Hanan is a charity that is quite unique. The establishment of the Association in 1992 was based on a sense of responsibility YBhg Puan Sri Datin Noorzilah, as the founder and chairman, Darul Hanan and his committee members to strengthen their affection among disadvantaged and defend the fate of children who lost a parent.

As a result of the membership, the association managed to build orphanages and poor known as Darul Hanan on a piece of land of 4 acres near Masjid Jamek Pasir Gudang that have been donated. Darul Hanan first building was built in 1992 and enrolled the first group of 31 girls on January 10, 1993.

Among the objectives of the Darul Hanan is to contribute to serve the community, especially the orphans and the poor who have not received the attention and protection, with emphasis on their learning to achieve a standard of living better and apply the family values that are positive for the stem social problem. In this case, the Darul Hanan also working with associations, organizations and other bodies which have the same purpose.

Darul Hanan emphasized the importance of science and personal development of children to ensure that children are kept up to the standard of education and personal development are high in order to bring them towards a better life in the future. This can be illustrated through the method of selecting those eligible to be placed on the Darul Hanan. In addition to the feasibility in terms of income and family background, they are also assessed in terms of academic achievement.

So far, a total of 40 children Darul Hanan successfully pursuing Higher Education Institute (HEI) in which 11 of them are still under the obligation of Darul Hanan. To raise the level of achievement and interests of children to education, they promised incentives as a stimulant success. The goal is to be an impulse and encouragement to children to work hard in lessons, serve as an inspiration to other children to follow in their footsteps and to guarantee the level of academic achievement of children Darul Hanan every time.

Darul Hanan Children are also encouraged to engage in sports activities and other co-curricular activities to fill their spare time. They are given the freedom to carry out activities either organized by the school, Darul Hanan nor other NGOs. They have a daily schedule each of which is supervised by the Administrator and appointed a full-time staff. They provided tuition and have a regular schedule for study. They are also concerned with recreational activities such as kayaking, exercising, working together. There are also given exposure in the sport of sailing in collaboration with the Malaysian Yachting Association.

As a result of excellent management and administration of regular, Darul Hanan been awarded the 'Best Home Overall Orphans Act 2004' by the Lions Club in Kuala Lumpur based on UPSR, PMR and SPM in 2003 with the number of 'A' to many Hanan .Darul also been selected as hosts for organizing Recitation of the Quran for Johor State Level Inter-16 in 2009 with 9 organizations orphans under the Coordinating Committee orphanage Johor.

At the same time the management has adopted austerity in operating expenses Darul Hanan. Thanks to the savings obtained, after 16 years of operation, management Darul Hanan able to purchase a plot of land of one acre in Pasir Gudang for the purpose of long-term investments to cover operating expenditure, in view of Darul Hanan operate without assistance from the Social Welfare Department (SWD).

Darul Hanan expected to give light to the lives of disadvantaged people, especially the orphans. The rapid development of Pasir Gudang industrial area of the population of fishermen to the industry, of course, requires a social balance where they are disadvantaged also need to be defended to meet the social and spiritual.

It also made on the basis of giving back to the communities in the vicinity, for which there are still many children and orphans who have not received the attention and the awareness of defense and nobody else will help these children but the community around it.
