You need: Clear vase or bowl that is fairly high Citric Acid Water Baking soda Vegetable colouring Moth balls
What to do: Fill your vase or bowl with water and add some colouring. Into the coloured water put one tablespoon of citric acid and two tablespoons of baking soda, stir just a little. It will fizz and then clear. Drop a handful of ordinary moth balls into the solution. The balls will be coated with little silver bubbles of water. They will begin to dance up and down in the water for several hours which should be long enough to outlast any dinner. IF they do not dance actively enough, toss in a little more citric acid and baking soda. The water will fizz up for a second or two and the dancing action of the snow balls will then last much longer. |
