Snow Globes

You need:
Aquarium glue                                              a jar with a lid
silver glitter                                                  a special object that can fit in the jar
white glitter                                                  ribbon
baby oil
water

Glue the special object to the jar lid with the aquarium glue so that when the lid is screwed on to the jar and the jar is turned upside down, the special object is sticking up inside the jar.  Wait 24 hours for the glue to dry.

Fill the jar 3/4 with baby oil.  Add the  glitter.  Fill the jar almost full with water.  Put aquarium glue around the edge of the jar and screw the lid back on.  Let it dry for 24 hours and then turn it over.   Use the ribbon to hid the jar lid.  You now have a "special" snow globe and can keep your "special" object forever!!

Dancing Snow Balls

You need:
Clear vase or bowl that is fairly high               Citric Acid
Water                                                          Baking soda
Vegetable colouring                                       Moth balls

What to do:
Fill your vase or bowl with water and add some colouring.  Into the coloured water put one tablespoon of citric acid and two tablespoons of baking soda, stir just a little.  It will fizz and then clear.  Drop a handful of ordinary moth balls into the solution.  The balls will be coated with little silver bubbles of water.  They will begin to dance up and down in the water for several hours which should be long enough to outlast any dinner.
IF they do not dance actively enough, toss in a little more citric acid and baking soda.  The water will fizz up for a second or two and the dancing action of the snow balls will then last much longer.
