A long time ago, in a galxy far far away there were a bunch kids that hated what people listened to, so they united and began bringing true music back into the world and though no one cared at first because the crap they had been listening to brainwashed them, people began thinking for themselves and doing what they want to do, not what others say, and the band was victorious as millions were saved from their iggnorance.
Who wrote that? what an idiot. The Jolly Rogers began in 2004 as The New and Dangerous(THEND). At that time only guitarist Matt Broadway and bassist Nathan Staten were in it. Summer of 2004 the budding drummer Jewell Oliver joined the band and the trio practiced together while Matt's brother Anthony wrote the lyrics.
After a few months THEND decided to look for another guitarist, they found Dylan Larson. The band played a few gigs and became locally popular, when Dylan decided to leave. In winter of 2004 guitarist Aaron Davis, with his kick 'em in the face and play louder attitude joined the band and the band was heard of again. after making an ep and playing more gigs they pulled in singer Nic Kimmey to take some of the burden off of Matt and Aaron. Shortly after this, senior member and bassist Nathan Staten left the band and at this time the name was changed to Cutlass Counterpart. Cutlass immidiatley found bassist Bret Butler and resumed writing within a week. Cutlass recorded an ep dropping the songs Nathan had wrote and played more and more major gigs.
When finally they landed a spot at a talent show and played for more than 200 people.
They continued to write until summer of 2005 when bassist Bret butler moved to Illinios and the band drifted apart. Fall 2005 guitarist Matt Broadway is teaching guitarist Josh Duren some guitar techniques when their conversation comes to crap(today's music) and both realizing their passion for real music they began The Jolly Rogers. Matt called up Nic and Jewell and the dream started.
