Thoughts on Sucking Up

People tell us that to get far into this world you have to suck up and do good work. some people just think that sucking up will do it, but bullshit might get you up high, but you won't be there for long. Got that from connie's page, to read the whole moral story thing, go to her page. I don't necessarily agree with that, but maybe it is true, no matter how detestable it is. I think that the sucking up part, when you're an adult, is really really stupid, and I personally would not want to.

I think the working hard, and working good part is the part that should be important, not trying to play the boss's favorite. and If you are the boss, then what you need to do is, well if you make friends w/ your employees then that's great, but you and your employee need to understasnd that if a promotion is coming up then it needs to be based on the employees performance, not whether the boss likes him or not. For the employee, if you're really really truly friends w/ the boss then i think that's great, but if you are just using your friendship to get a promotion or something like that, that's sick. you're messing w/ a person's feelings, and that person would feel pressured to do something that might not be ethically/morally right. But that's when we get older, we meaning, the people in the teenager age. and the teeny boppers too. = ).

Right now, though, in our age, we can suck up too, but it's just to teachers to get better grades.. etc. Sucking up to the so called popular group so you can seem like a popular person, etc. I don't condone it, but if you do so, hm.. well if it's really really obvious then i would tend not to want to be around you cause i think that if you were of a sound judgement of yourself you wouldn't need to suck up to anyone because you appreciate who you are. For real though, I think people, including me, do suck up unintentionally at times and maybe it's just part of human nature, I really would rather prefer to just be who I am, and not needing to become someone's favorite to get good grades. If I do yell things out a lot in german, it's not because i'm trying to get the teacher to like me, it's because i'm trying to learn, and sometimes at the rate people are going, it's really really not working...
