| 1984 Fiero 2M4 |
| This is my 1984 Fiero 2M4. It has a 2.5L 4 cylinder, and a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, with a 4.10 final drive ratio. The stock 13 inch aluminum wheels I replaced with 16 inch Beretta GTZ wheels, with 205/55/VR16 Dunlop W-10's on the front, and 225/50/ZR16 Kumhos on the rear. Looks GREAT!!! Click here to see what it looked like when I got it. I have decided to go ahead and build up this car. I have purchased a 3100 v-6 engine from a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu with less than 30,000 miles on it. I am going to install this engine BASICALLY stock using 3.1L MPI electronics and fuel-injection. No major modifications to the engine, but I am considering an underdrive pulley, performance chip, high flow exhaust, cold air induction, and possibly a mild NOS kit. I don't think I need any major internal modifications at this time being that this engine in stock form is more powerful than any of the Fiero GT models, and coupled with the 4.10 gears in my Muncie 4-speed, it should be a little rocket out of the hole. I know I could do a SC 3800, or a Northstar, or a small block chevy V-8, but as far as cost effectiveness of the car right now, I just can't afford it. This will give the car a lot more spunk and should keep me satisfied, at least for a little while. |
