Welcome! First of all, thank you for stopping by. I am glad that you are interested in finding out a little bit about the person behind this website. Well, let me introduce myself, my name is Joi (aka Joie).

I was born in a small town/village in the foothills of Virginia, near the West Virginia border. I moved to New York City almost 11 years ago to pursue a career in singing. Even though I consider my deep passion for music, specifically singing, much more than a hobby, I have had to reduce my time pursuing that passion to a "hobby status." Funny how life keeps getting in the way! But lately I have been doing a little bit more performing. Click below to see a live performance!

I am a single, 35 years old, who use to work in advertising and technology arena as a systems analyst. Now I am currently enjoying freelance work as a writer.

What else to tell? I have loads of interests...I love computer games, science fiction, history/anthropology/archeology, etc. The list is too long to go into. I do adore reading. I also have another related love, writing. Its a kind of love/hate thing. I write poetry, short stories, articles, whatever makes me type on a keyboard or pick up a pen. I have started the Classic-American Novel -- Don't know how classic it will be, but its fun to dream, isn't it?

I grew up singing and playing the piano, as well as other instruments. I started playing the piano at 2 years old in music nursery school. By 8 years old, I was playing classical piano and starting to sing classical pieces by the time I was 13. I also played the clarinet and the xylophone in my high school jazz bands. I also did my share of singing in clubs. I have serious interest in theatre and film production.

On a different but similar side, I have been a radio announcer since my teen years. I also got my feet thoroughly wet with copy writing and radio production, plus, produced radio shows. I have always made a living with my voice or my words. I love to communicate! It was only natural to progress to the INTERNET!
