Relevant Content From Coursework In My Program Of Studies That Have Prepared Me For The Teaching Profession

One of the most important things that I have learned as an education major is that students need to be actively engaged in their learning process.  To accomplish this, one must include a variety of hands on learning experiences into their teaching methods.  Despite this being a time consuming endeavor, I feel that this will ultimately aid the students in successfully learning the material.

Another aspect that I have come to appreciate is the fact that students may possess various special needs.  As teachers, we will need to accomodate such students throughout out teaching career.  During my Pre-Student Teaching Practicum class, we were requried to write a special needs paper.  This was a very informative learning tool for me.  Please click here to read my special needs paper.  It concerns a highly functioning autistic student.  It may include ideas you could use in your own classroom if you have a similar student.
