Suicide Pat

I used to know a guy named Pat.
He and I would talk about cats.
In truth we only had one conversation,
But that's not an important realization.

One day he had a fight with his new girlfriend.
She found him in his car with his head blown in.
Catholics say suicide is a mortal sin;
That must not have bothered him.

Police say he had to fire it twice.
The first shot missed, the second sufficed.
It's scary enough to try and do yourself in.
You have to be determined as hell to do it again.
