My wife has a woodworking hobby of her own - weaving baskets. She started taking a local monthy class for some stress relief and has progressed from simple small baskets to increasingly more complex ones. She doesn't split her own reed, which really isn't that much of a "cheat" in the sense that many woodworkers don't saw and dry their own lumber. Following are some of the more recent baskets she has made, there are several others that aren't pictured, but are also quite well done. She has an open house once a year, primarily to get together with her friends, while at the same time selling a few baskets.
