   Photo7 shows Zealous ready for final rigging.  All of the rigging is hand twisted  cable and hawse.  The dead eyes are turned from lignum Vitae.  Most of the ship is made from apple wood. 
    Photo 8 shows the figure head and  head frames.  You can see the wood pegs used to fasten this together.  The figure head is carved from Brazilian redwood and finshed with gold leaf

   the stern is shown in photo 9.  All of the figures shown are carved from bone and finished with gold leaf.  The railings and moldings are made using a technique of scraping with a form scraper.
    Photo 10  shows the laying of the upper deck.  You can see the many rows of maple tooth picks being used as treenails.  They are later clipped off with a pair of wire cutters
