The JohnsJohn Potty Patrol
uses the following criteria when inspecting each restroom. Each restroom (business) starts with ten
possible points and is assumed to be clean and safe.
Minus 10 points if restroom
is unavailable or out of service
Minus 10 points if no toilet
paper available
Minus 10 points if only
available toilet, urinal or sink is unusable
Minus 10 points if primary
restroom door lock is broken (if applicable)
Minus 10 points if no soap
available
Minus 10 points if
electrical wires are exposed
Minus 10 points if floor is
flooded
Minus 10 points if not
handicap accessible
Minus 10 points if restroom
in unsafe location
Minus 5 points if any
toilet, urinal or sink is unusable but has an out of order sign
Minus 5 points for each
missing stall door
Minus 5 points for missing
toilet paper holder
Minus 2 points if any
toilet, urinal or sink is slightly dirty but usable
Minus 2 points if the
restroom is insufficient in size when compared to number of customers
Minus 2 points for each
broken stall lock
Minus 2 points for broken
mirror(s)

insufficient lighting
Minus 2 points if floors are
slippery
Minus 2 point if there is no diaper changing table
Minus 2 points for broken

A plus sign (+) will be
added to grades having any of the following items:
A minus sign (-) will be
added to grades for gross neglect.
IMPORTANT: We rate some restrooms as "Best of the Best" and recognize them as the elite. Each "Best of the Best" restroom is awarded our Seal of Approval. A "Best of the Best" restroom represents the best in cleanliness and safety and meets the following conditions:
