Wooden and brass clock gears  are made in groups  by fastening a number of blanks of correct diameter  to a spin index  on a mill drill  and cutting one  tooth  at a time with a form cutter as shown in  pictures above and below
The picture at the right shows the complete set of parts needed to make my latest skeleton clock.  Plans for this clock will be available soon.
Clock gears  must be adjusted so that they  mesh properly.   A depthing tool is ideal for this.  Both gears with their pinions can be moved together or apart while maintaining the parallelism between the two shafts of the wheels.    the ends of the shafts are ground so that they can be used like a pair of compasses to  arc all of the points  of best gear contact.  As you can see this one is hand made by me.
