JOHN'S CLOCKS
My  Latest  design is a skeleton clock.  It is a composite.  It has ironwood plates with lignum vitae bearings  inlaid.  The works are brass.  the pendulum is in front of the clock as  a stylized letter J  with carved central fleur de lis.  The mounts  left and right are of brass plate that has been carved for relief.  The weight of the pendulum is 300 grams.  The driving weight is  3 kilograms.  Hand made in  2003
This  is my best design in wooden clocks.  The plates are  mahogany and the face inlaid  honey locust.  The gears are of various woods including  epae,  and  mahogany  .The pinions are  of cocabola, and  lignum vitae.  The verge and  escape wheel are of  brass as are the mounts and fittings.  there are a number of ball bearing  races in this clock.  It has a 400 gram pendulum..  It is a 1 second movement
This is the latest version of my latest composite clock.  some of the different features are , a pendulum in the front,  ball bearing races  throughout, a reduction of the number of wheels in the  time train, the use of lantern gears throughout the time train, pendulum weight exceeding  400 grams.  the clock works very well.
