Name: Bugs BunnyFirst appearance: 1940
Quotation: "What's Up, Doc?"
Co-stars: Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Marvin the Martian, Taz, Yosemite Sam, and more
Bugs Bunny is one of the world's best loved cartoon characters. Bugs first came into the spotlight in the 1940 cartoon, "A Wild Hare" and since then he has starred in 175 animated shorts. Bugs' character is best described by Chuck Jones, his creator, who once said "Bugs represents the person we all want to be where as Daffy [Duck] captures a closer approximation of the person we all fear that we actually are".
First Appearance: 1937
Quotation: "You're Despicable!"
Co-stars: Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Marvin the Martian, Porky Pig, Taz, and more. Daffy Duck is most probably the most looney of the Looney Tunes. Him and Bugs have starred in some cracking cartoons, ("Show Biz Bugs," "Person to Bunny," "Ali Baba Bunny," among others.) Unfortunately Daffy is the one who always gets the anvil dropped on his head. He has always been the greedy one and there is never enough money in the world for him. He first came to the cinema in 1937 but it was not until the late 1940's that his true character came out. Daffy (unlike Bugs who has CO-starred with only a narrow band of characters) has CO-starred with nearly all the Looney Tunes and has proved incompetent to cooperate with any of them!
Names: Sylvester and TweetyFirst Appearances:1947
Quotations: "Sufferin' Succotash" and "I Tawt I Taw a Puddy Tat!"
Co-stars: Granny
Sylvester and Tweety debuted in 1947's "Tweety Pie" and have starred in several cartoons since then. Some of the ideas Sylvester has to try and catch Tweety are up to Wile E. Coyote's standards, but time after time Tweety manages to outsmart him. Sylvester has starred in several cartoons not starring Tweety. For example, he stars with his son, Sylvester Jr. when he was trying to show him the ropes on catching mice. The clown-nosed cat also stars in 1978's "The Wild Chase," when he starred with Wile E. as they tried to stop a race between Speedy Gonzalez and the Road Runner. Eventually, he came crawling back to the little yellow canary in the Kids' WB! cartoon, "The Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries."
First Appearance: 1949
Quotation: "Beep, Beep!"
Co-stars: Bugs Bunny, Sam Sheepdog, one stint with Speedy Gonzalez and Sylvester
First Appearance: 1954
Quotation: "$@&*^#!!"
Co-stars: Bugs Bunny, one stint with Daffy Duck
Taz is another of those Looney Tunes who says very little, if anything. However, he is capable of producing a number of remarkable noises! He is the youngest and most monstrous Looney Tune. He and his family are quite capable of making even the most boring of people hint a smile. But there is more than just his family behind the complex chemistry of Taz-Mania, each possessing some great character properties! Taz was born in the 1954 cartoon "Devil May Hare," but it was not really until the 1990's onwards that his true character became reviled. In has early cartoons he co-starred with Bugs Bunny and a few other characters which I can't be bothered mentioning! Taz is one of few Looney tunes still in animation today, and why not? He is better than Bugs any day! I started to like Taz to tease my cousin.
