Found in one of Jon's sock drawers (The reason it was there is unknown) and adopted by Garfield on October 23, 1978, Pooky allows Garfield to show his softer site. He is a teddy bear extraordinaire: lovable, huggable, cuddly, understanding, cute (even cuter than Nermal, according to Garfield), and always there when Garfield needs him. Garfield shares his deepest thoughts (and his deepest sleeps) with his fuzzy friend. Plus he never tries to hog Garfield's blanket or food. Garfield likes that. Pooky can even cheer up Garfield when he's in a good bad mood, as seen in this strip from January 17, 1997.


Pooky's appearence hasn't changed much, like Jon, but a few things have occured over the years of wear and tear. It seems Pooky was become a little more full of stuffing, and is a lot fuzzier. His nose has taken the shape of an oval, and has gotten a lot bigger. Pooky also seems to have lost his mouth somewhere along the line.
