CANINE BEHAVIOUR COUNSELING SKILLS

This is a course that runs for four days once in every two years. This course is being offered again in 2002. Designed to examine the counseling skills necessary to ensure that behaviour and training programs are correctly interpreted, undertaken and maintained by owners with their problem dogs. Emphasis is placed on problem solving and communication skills and there will be ample opportunity to engage in both group and individual behavior and training consultations under supervision. Owners of problem dogs will attend the course for private consultations and will expect full written behaviour modification programs from the students present. Each student will be required to carry out at least one behaviour or training consultation as part of the course.
