Living Naturally Thin |
How the book "Diet's Don't Work" changed my life and can change yours.
I peered sadly at the scale once again. It read 175 pounds. That was more than thirty pounds overweight. I thought to myself "Maybe I just have big muscles or bones." Yet, the rolls of fat on my belly told a different story. I was called fatso at school. I was afraid to take off my shirt in the locker room or wear a bathing suit. I was ashamed of the body I lived in. Now, however, that’s all changed. The old scale says 140 pounds. The rolls are gone. Instead of chubby, now I’m called handsome and slim. I even wear a bathing suit proudly. All of those changes were caused by a single book written by Bob Schwartz, a health expert and fitness center owner and I’m not the only one it’s worked for. Thus, anyone who wants to become and stay naturally thin should read Diet’s Don’t Work.
The basic idea of the book alone is fascinating. The online book review section of Amazon.com has a a reader from Carthage, NY who wrote "I bought this book in a last ditch effort to lose weight. . .This book made me understand that being fat was more of an emotional factor than a physical one." Teaching people how to use their emotions for fat control makes for a very original and powerful system. Bob Schwartz did a study on people who were always naturally thin to find out what they’re doing right. Most of the people he interviewed told him that they never really think about it, but they just eat when they are hungry. He also found out that they stop when they’re satisfied. Best of all, he found that they eat whatever they crave. Schwartz concluded from his research that those natural, instinctive thin habits can be rescued from inside the mind to make you thin and healthy. Does it sound like this method wouldn’t work? Listen to what a reader from California writes: "It takes time to get rid of the diet mentality, to be honest, I am still working on it, but I have noticed a great difference in my attitude towards food and dieting. I have lost weight and I feel GREAT!!!" Of course, he isn’t the only one it’s worked for.
Diet’s Don’t Work can a inspire a positive change in the lives of those who have never even dieted before. I never attempted a diet in my life before I read this book, but when I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. The exercises were fun and informative, and I learned how to be passionate about my food. Before I read I, I used to eat grapes, cookies or whatever I could grab while watching the TV. I wouldn’t really pay attention to the food, but munch all the time. The book calls this behavior eating mechanically, and it is one of the leading causes of fat. Also, before I read Diets Don’t Work I used to eat until I was stuffed, because I didn’t want to throw anything away and I didn’t want to be hungry later. Diet’s Don’t Work taught me that thin people stop when they’re satisfied; not when they’re full. I used to eat whatever was available. Now I know that people can ask the thin person inside them what food is needed at the time to stay healthy. Some people believe they can’t change the way they’ve approached food all their lives. I have one response to that argument: I did it, and I never want to go back.
Most importantly, this book’s improvement on your life lasts. A reader from Riverwoods, IL wrote "Bob's approach is life-altering." Recall the reader from NY who reported new knowledge of being fat as more emotional than physical. The next message written was that the exercises "made me face realities that I knew existed but didn't want to see". What you learn in this book is not just a routine. It is an attitude and a mentality. Our reader from California said "Don't expect results very fast. It's a gradual process but long lasting." Also, Listen to how our reader from Cathrage, NY concluded her testimony: "I began to eat out of true hunger, and in the last 6 months I have lost 56 pounds. I'm still working on it, but with the information I learned in this book, I know I'll never be fat again, because this time, I didn't diet (they don't work) I changed my life." Now, recall the example of myself. It took me 4 months to start losing weight, and really grip my new mentality. Today, it’s 4 years later and I’m still 140 pounds. The process is learning and the results are for a lifetime.
Finally, we can see that Diets Don’t work is a book that works. Recall my story - 175 pounds became 140 and it has lasted. I no longer feel guilty about the food that I eat, but it tastes better than it ever did before. More importantly I feel like a thin person -- healthy and alive with energy. And it’s all thanks to a single book. Anyone who wants these results should do the same. I can’t put my feelings toward this book any better way than did the reader from Riverwoods, IL: "WOW!"
