| My name is John Andersson. I live in Stockholm, Sweden. I am 23 years, Ive been an a-ha lover for eleven years now. And I am even going to tell you the story about the first time I heard a-ha... It was in 1995. I was recording a Bond movie called "The Living Daylights" (I am a huge Bond freak by the way). The film went on and as usual the Bond song came... What an a-ha experance! What a great song that was! "Should I quit recording and go back to that song?". That sentence haunted me all of the movie (although It was a very good Bond film). Finally the torture stopped and I could rewind... Then, I listened to that Bond theme for about two weeks, day and night. I thought my stephfather was going to kill me. He couldnt watch television bacause I occupied it for that song! Then I became interested in the band who made this miracle song. The group called a-ha... I bagan to think. Where could Ive heard them before. I asked my Mother, father, friends and even my cousins! They all mentioned a song called "Take on me". It rang a bell in my head, a video mixed with cartoons, ahhh. was that a-ha? I remembered that I liked that song too! This band must be something special. So I bought their greatest hits album. To my surprise I found out that "The Living Daylights" was four minutes long, It was only about two minutes in the movie, I was so happy! And after a week I knew every song by the book on that album. I began to search for a-ha records all over town. I bought the albums "Hunting High And Low" and "Memorial Beach" I loved them both. How can they make so different albums like those two, this band really rocks! I bought every single too. Now I also started to check out websites about a-ha. I came to a page called Cold River. It had clips of all a-ha songs and I began to dream. When I came to my old friend "The Living Daylights" I got another a-ha experiance. Whats this? Another version!? I had already heard the extended remix, and this wasnt it! The clip was from the album Stay On These Roads. I started to search desperatily. But in every recordstore no a-ha album had that name... Then I went to London with my father. Once there I bought the Headlines & Deadlines video and the album "Scoundrel Days" (Great trip by the way). When I returned to Sweden I found "East Of The Sun West Of The Moon" on the airport. Lucky me. But I couldnt locate "Stay on These Roads", yet... To make a long story short: Found "Stay On These Roads", fainted out of hapiness, fainted again when I heard the remix of my favourite song. To sum it all up: A-ha will forever be special to me... This is my collection of a-ha items (if you have something I dont possess and would like to sell it to me, please contact me at [email protected]). So these are my final words: Thank heaven for a-ha!!! |
