John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex, OLTL) channeling Ben Affleck in the latest offering from Streetlight Productions, Livin' the Life and Hangin' at Joe's, currently playing at the Lion Theatre in New York City. Lavoisier once again stars in several vignettes capturing the essence of life in the Big Apple. In "ACME," he's a temporary employment recruiter who demands minimum output from his workers. "I've based it a little bit off the part Ben played in Boiler Room," Lavoisier explains. Mastering the seven-minute monologue turned out to be less daunting than Lavoisier expected. "It's the longest piece I've ever had, but my memory muscles have gotten much stronger doing the soap work." Theater patrons get to see the newly buffed actor - he's been lifting since the summer - up close during the piece as he travels the house to interact directly with the audience. "I like to move around and bring them into the story." Much like the title, Lavoisier has been know to hang at the real Joe Allen Restaurant, the NYC institution around which the show revolves. "My favorite entree is the steak tartare," he reveals. "And every now and then, if don't have to be shirtless at [OLTL] for a week, I get the hot fudge pudding cake with vanilla ice-cream."
