great web site. I would love to see racing stats on his career; particularly the riverside races in the blue 935 turbo around 81 &82. Awesome car and drive on the old riverside road course.
keep up the good work

I first met John at the inaugural race in Charlotte in 1997. That was my first IRL race
and I was having a good time. I met nearly all the
drivers during the autograph session. All were very cordial. But there was one that said to me, "So are you having a good time?" Those few simple words had a great impact on me. And, yes, John,
I had a great time. Best of luck and I hope to see you again next year. BTW, I ordered a shirt in white - beautiful fit and quality.

jp are my initials. I first watched John and his father race IMSA in the light blue 936. I now see him often at the race track working driving schools. He always has time to talk racing and whatever is on your mind. A very polite individual who, even
n raceday, will take time to say hello. Good luck JR>

I was taking photos right before the Petit La Mans at Road Atlanta and I say a young boy asking John Paul for his autograph. He took his time and talked to him one on one; asking whether he was enjoying the weekend of racing so far. He was very prersona
le. I became a fan at once.
I sent a photo of the seen. You will also see a picture of his helmet next to his gloves. I have never seen a pair of gloves with more wear on them. I was tempted to ask if I could buy him a new pair for his old ones. I let the moment pass. I'm quite
sure he has those gloves just the way he likes them.

As you can see by my screen name, I am a big John Paul Jr fan. I have followed him for many years and have gotten to spend time with him at several races over the past couple of years. I was in Texas for his IRL win there. What a thrill. John not only
is a good driver, when given the proper equipment, but is a great guy. Many professional athletes won't give you the time of day. John will give you all day. Best of luck in the future John. I hope it includes the IRL again.
Go John go!!!

We were able to see John Paul at Indy in 92 for the first time since John was in school. They were happy to see each other. John Paul is very underrated and has a lot on the ball. |

He and his wife Trish were very nice and very personable. He has been my favorite driver for years. GO JOHN!!! |

I tried starting a fan club for JP, many years ago, but he wasn't interested at the time. I think he has more fans out there than he will ever know. JP and I have a commo interest, as we were both Mark Donohue fans, and I now have a site dedicated to Mark Donohue(www.unfairadvantageracing.com), if anyone is interested in seeing it. How can I contact JP thru EMail? Thanks |
