Each morning the beach seems to have a different look and color. I'm always anxious to see what each new daybreak is like. Most mornings I wake just a little before sunrise and have to rush off to the beach, but this morning I arose at 5am and decided I had time to make coffee to take to the beach. It was still twilight when I arrived there and had the place all to myself... just me and the crabs. No breeze this morning, so the gnats where there too. Click the images below to enlarge.

Yesterday I painted the computer room one coat. Here is preview of the color.

Smokey Salmon

The wall that I removed the window from will require another coat, since I didn't prime it white before color coating. Today I will paint it, then recoat the baseboard white, and finish the shoe molding.

Also yesterday, I worked on an outside project that had been on hold since the house was built. P&J had had the wire and switch put in place for an outside post lamp when the house was built, but the wire for it had never been finalized. One end was wrapped around a downspout at the corner of the house and the other end was curled up in the planting bed under years of Confederate Jasmine growth. I had to cut through the vine to find the wire. First I had to prime the bottom of a Cedar post 2 coats of exterior primer, then I dug the hole and got the post set with the wire coming up through it. Next I connected the other end to a wall box already installed in the brickwork behind the hedges at the front walk. I used EMT conduit and a liquid-tight fitting to bring the wire above grade and connect the circuit. The lamp is yet to be selected and purchased.

Here's a big bird that was soaring above the beach this morning.
