Missed Sunrise by 15 min. A beautiful morning, clear and warm. I just sat and enjoyed the new day and a fresh beach from the receding tide. Birds were awing on their way to their favorite feeding grounds. Being Monday, very few people were here to stir on the beach. I had almost total privacy for my morning meditation.

Upon returning from the beach, I found that "J" was off to golf. "P" and I had a homeowner's meeting to discuss the layout of the hardwood flooring and to familiarize ourselves with installation techniques and procedures. We also discussed requirements for other projects that are on the drawing board.

Our "meeting" concluded around lunchtime and since my helper wouldn't be home from the links until 2pm, I decide to have lunch on the beach. The temps were well into the eighties and a nice breeze was blowing. It was low tide and with few other there, I felt I owned the place. The time passed too quickly and remembering I was only on "lunch," I hurried here to find "J" ready and willing to get started.

First we moved their entertainment center to the garage and began removing the old floor coverings. Next we took up a strip of carpeting adjacent to the front entryway and extending just beyond access to the kitchen. Then the vinyl covering was removed from the kitchen floor, except that none was removed from under appliances. Those will be dealt with on an individual basis as required.

The flooring is to be installed parallel to the front of the house and entryway. I laid out a line that runs from the living room into the kitchen to allow for projecting the flooring through the kitchen in a strait line from the living room. I will start at the tile in the foyer and upon reaching the line, will shift my attention into the kitchen and finishing it first before crossing the great expanse of the living room and into the office.
