Up before six, but the sky looked overcast when I peeked out the window, so I leisurely put on a pot of coffee and got ready to go to the beach. I was surprise to find it clear and the Sun already up when I reached the coast, so I decided to take a walk to the south end of Litchfield Beach, where Midway Inlet separates Litchfield from Pawleys Island. The beach is wide and flat there and at low tide is quite expansive. A pair of fishermen where trying their luck in a Jon boat on the inlet. There where a good number of shells there, but no sand dollars like I was hoping to find. The walk was about 3 miles round trip and it was after 8am by the time I got back here.
At 9am got started on the tile grouting. First I scraped excess mortar from the joints and wiped up any dist with a damp sponge. I ran the vacuum just to be sure to get anything hiding in the cracks. By 10 I had my first bag of grout mixed and ready to spread. "P" had an old grout float that I was going to use, but when I dampened it and squeezed out the water, the color of the foam rubber (red) was bleeding out. "J" had already left to go to the movies, so I jumped in my truck and ran to the local hardware to get a new one. Click here to see the grouter.
I spent the rest of the day spreading and wiping 50 pounds of grout. It was after 5 when I finished and "P" had a lovely meal of Pork Chops a la Orange, baked sweet potatoes, and broccoli nearly ready to eat. She said she wished she had some wine to accompany the meal, but didn't, so I ran to The Wine Cellar and got a bottle of White Zinfandel. The meal was a gourmet delight!!!
