12/21/99 - Hagerstown, MD HoPWF/ NWL John Balsamo vs. Hijinx: Hijinx had an early advantage on Balsamo but was stopped when John clapped his ears. Balsamo began working on Hijinx's back with a series of slams and submissions holds. When Balsamo tried to end the match with a back body drop Hijinx reversed his move by picking him up in a powerbomb position and dropping Balsamo's throat across the top rope. When Hijinx hit his reverse ddt finisher Kurt Kiezer distracted referee Jeremy Stoned, MoD and the Loonatick came in the ring and delivered a spike pile driver to Hyjinx. John Balsamo got the pin on Hyjinx at 11:28 after the Loonatick and Master of Disaster interfered in the match.
12/19/99 - Lake Hiawatha, NJ ECPW "The Shooter" John Anthony Balsamo vs. Tiger Woods: The match began with the two graplers countering the other's wrist locks. The two were evenly matched until Tiger missed a splash in the corner. He turned around and was hit by an atomic drop and soon fell victim to the Last Night on Earth. Balsamo covered him and won by pinfall.
12/14/99 - Hagerstown, MD HoPWF/ NWL John Balsamo vs. "The Loonatick" Dan Kallis: John Balsamo got the pin on the Loonatick at 8:56 but was disqualified for using a foreign object. Actually, Master of Disaster threw an object in the ring when John Balsamo was getting the pin on the Loonatick and then accused Balsamo of using the object to get the pin. John Balsamo was awarded HoPWF wrestler of the week after this match.
12/07/99 - Hagerstown, MD HoPWF/ NWL John Balsamo vs. The Doc: Both wrestlers were evenly matched. The Doc hit many high risk moves and Balsamo grounded him with many submission holds. The match went the entire 15 minute time limit. Referee Jeremy Stoned declared the match a draw. This was the HoPWF match of the week.
11/23/99 - Hagerstown, MD HoPWF/ NWL John Balsamo vs. John Rambo[NWL Heavyweight Champion] vs. Malcolm Y (NWL Heavyweight Title Match): A very hard hitting and tough match. John Rambo and Malcolm Y were disqualified after giving the referee a wedgiee. John Balsamo was declared the winner.
11/09/99 - Hagerstown, MD HoPWF/ NWL John Balsamo vs. Jeremy Stoned (HoPWF "SHOOTFIGHT" MATCH): John Balsamo dominated the match and got the win at 4:47 with a guillotine stretch submission.
11/06/99 - McConnellsburg, PA HoPWF/ NWL John Balsamo vs. Dan Kallis: Dan had an early advantage in the match. Balsamo cut him off with a rake to the eyes but lost his momentum after missing a moonsault from the top rope. Kallis dominated the rest of the match until Balsamo hit him below the belt. John Balsamo then got the pin on Devious Dan Kallis at 9:17 following a crossbody tackle off the top rope.
11/02/99 Hagerstown, MD HoPWF/ NWL John Balsamo vs. Menudo: Menudo was able to avoid Balsamo's attacks and would dance each time he outsmarted Balsamo. While Menudo was dancing, Balsamo used a foreign object to knock out his opponent and get the pinfall.
10/23/99 National Guard Armory Winchester, VA MD HoPWF/ NWL John Balsamo w/Dylan Dean vs. Paul Beswick: Dylan Dean grabbed the mike and got the crowd rallied up while promoting Balsamo. Paul tried to control the match but was continually distracted by Dylan, giving Balsamo the upper hand. John Balsamo was DQ'd at 11:58 after Dylan Dean interfered in the match. Dylan and Balsamo beat Paul to the ground and left the ring with their hands in the air.
10/16/99 X-hale Nightclub Frederick, MD HoPWF/ NWL John Balsamo vs. Flex Fenom vs. Paul Beswick (NWL Cruiserweight Title Match): John Balsamo hit Paul Beswick with a low blow kick and then went to the top rope. Balsamo caught Flex Fenom with a pair of brass knuckles off the top rope but Beswick was able to stop the pin on Fenom by Balsamo. Beswick threw Balsamo out of the ring and got his bulldozer finish on Fenom. As Beswick went for the pin on Fenom, Balsamo came off the top rope with the brass knuckles on Beswick. Balsamo went up to the top rope for one more shot to Fenom but Beswick, who was semiconscious, staggered into the ring ropes and knocked Balsamo off the top rope. Balsamo fell straight down and took a low blow shot on the top rope. Flex Fenom fell on Balsamo to get the pin at 16:52. Flex Fenom retained the NWL cruiserweight title.
9/07/99 - Hagerstown, MD HoPWF/ NWL John �The Paisano� Balsamo (NWL Cruiserweight Champion) vs. Flex Fenom [NWL Cruiserweight Title Match]: Balsamo and Flex battled back and forth most of the match. Balsamo knocked the referee out when he went for the Thez Press. While the referee was knocked out Flex used a chair on Balsamo to get the win and capture the NWL Cruiserweight Title.
8/07/99 - Hagerstown, MD HoPWF/ NWL MATCH OF THE WEEK HoPWF Heavyweight title match (8-7-99) Best of 3 falls challenger John Balsamo (NWL Cruiserweight Champion) -vs- Aidiean (HoPWF Heavyweight champion) Balsamo got the first pin at 8:49 by using his feet on the ropes. Aidiean got the second pinfall at 10:53 by using his feet on the ropes. Balsamo held Aidiean's tights and thought he had scored the third pinfall but referee Dexter Alexander called for the match to continue. At 14:39, Aidiean used his "hot shot" neckbreaker finish maneuver to get the final pinfall to remain HoPWF heavyweight champion. .
7/27/99 - Hagerstown, MD HoPWF/ NWL �The Shooter� John Balsamo(NWL Cruiserweight Champion) vs. Latin Tornado [NWL Cruiserweight Title Match]: Latin Tornado used his feet on the ropes to get the pin on Balsamo but referee Dexter Alexander ruled that the match continue after the crowd explained what happened. At 12:23, LT was DQed after he hit Dexter Alexander with the title belt. Balsamo retained his NWL Cruiserweight belt.
7/24/99 - Woodstock, VA HoPWF/ NWL �The Shooter� John Balsamo(NWL Cruiserweight Champion) vs. Fantasia (HoPWF Cruiserweight Champion)[NWL Cruiserweight Title Match]: Fantasia was DQed at 7:41 because of a low blow kick to referee Dexter Alexander. John Balsamo retained the NWL cruiserweight title.
7/20/99 - Hagerstown, MD HoPWF/ NWL �The Shooter� John Balsamo(NWL Cruiserweight Champion) vs. The Doc [NWL Cruiserweight Title Match]: The majority of the match was an even scientific display of moves. When the Doc began to dominate the match he power bombed John. When he attempted a second power bomb, Balsamo fliped over him and climbed the ropes. John Balsamo then caught the Doc with a Thesz Press off the top rope to get the pin at 11:55. Balsamo retained the NWL cruiserweight title. This match earned Balsamo the NWL wrestler of the week postion.
7/13/99 - Hagerstown, MD HoPWF/ NWL �The Shooter� John Balsamo(NWL Cruiserweight Champion) & The Doc vs. Chuckie Manson & Dan Kallis: Balsamo and Doc out-wrestled their opponents for most of the match. At 13:56, Kallis hit Doc with a low blow and got the pin following his "Canadian Divide" finishing maneuver.
7/11/99 - Cedar Beach in Allentown, PA {Sportsfest II WXW Channel 2 TV taping} WXW �The Shooter� John Balsamo(NWL Cruiserweight Champion & WXW Cruiserweight Champion) vs. Kale [WXW Cruiserweight Title Match]: John Balsamo had control of the match until he missed a centon splash from the top rope. Kale took advantage of this and hit a powerbomb for the win. Kale became the new WXW champion.
7/06/99 - Hagerstown, MD HoPWF/ NWL �The Shooter� John Balsamo(NWL Cruiserweight Champion & WXW Cruiserweight Champion) vs. Tate Griffen [NWL Cruiserweight Title Match]: Quick paced cruiserweight match. Balsamo pinned Griffen at 9:55 with a cross body tackle off the top rope. John Balsamo retained the NWL cruiserweight title.
6/30/99 - Lake Hiawatha, NJ ECPW "The Shooter" John Balsamo (NWL Cruiserweight Champion) vs. Young Dragon: Balsamo reversed Young Dragon's finishing hold with a school boy roll up and got the pin.
6/29/99 - Hagerstown, MD HoPWF/ NWL �The Shooter� John Balsamo(NWL Cruiserweight Champion & WXW Cruiserweight Champion)vs. Jake "The Machine" Davis [NWL Cruiserweight Title Match]: Balsamo had control of the whole match and injured Jake's shoulder in the process. When Balsamo hit the ropes Fantasia tripped him. Tate Griffen then agued with the referee on the interference. Due to the confusion, the referee Dexter Alexander declared the match a no contest at 8:41. John Balsamo retained the NWL cruiserweight title.
6/13/99 - Nascopec, PA Top Rope/ WXW �The Shooter� John Balsamo(NWL Cruiserweight Champion & WXW Cruiserweight Champion) vs. Samoan Storm [WXW Cruiserweight Title Match]: Balsamo out-wrestled the less experienced Afa jr. most of the match. "Sweet Daddy" Jay Love interfered at the end of the match by dropping an elbow on Balsamo. Balsamo won by disqualification and retained the WXW Cruiserweight Title.
6/12/99 - Hazleton, PA Top Rope/ WXW �The Shooter� John Balsamo(NWL Cruiserweight Champion) vs. Kale {WXW Cruiserweight Champion} vs. Tommy Suede [WXW Cruiserweight Triple Threat Title Match]: Fast paced match with a large amount of double team moves. Tommy ducked Kale's closeline and dumped him out of the ring. Balsamo snuck up behind him and exicuted a German Suplex for the win. Balsamo is the new WXW Cruiserweight Champion!!!
6/08/99 - Hagerstown, MD HoPWF/ NWL �The Shooter� John Balsamo(NWL Cruiserweight Champion) vs. Jerkface [No Time Limit Title Match]: It was a long and hard fought match. Jerkface kicked out of a "Thesz Press", sunset flip from the top rope, a missle drop kick from the top rope, and a variety of other hard hitting moves. Jerface was able to gain control of the match and almost pinned Balsamo after suplexing him from the top rope. Balsamo regained control and pinned Jerkface with a belly to back suplex at 23:52. John Balsamo retains the NWL Cruiserweight title.
6/01/99 - Hagerstown, MD HoPWF/ NWL �The Shooter� John Balsamo(NWL Cruiserweight Champion) vs. Chuckie Manson [Title match]: John Balsamo caught Manson with a "Thesz Press" off the top rope to get the pin at 9:19. Balsamo retains the NWL Cruiserweight title.
