Mentor Motto - Listening, encouraging, and responsibly supervising Imagine, if you will, a dad pushing his child on a swing set. Higher Daddy! the child screams. Push me higher!!! Like that father, you will push these students higher. Stand behind them and giving them your time, encouraging words, and a stable adult example. You will be able to participate in the joy of students going higher than they would have been able to go alone. There are three levels of commitment: Project: Commit a few hours for projects here and there Program: Commit to projects and program events like The Camp and The Trip Partner: Commit to mentoring a specific student on a weekly basis Qualifications: Pass Background Check Responsible 21-35 yrs/old Duties: Fill out and talk about Workbook with students Supervise during projects Pick up/drop off supplies and equipment when necessary Act in accordance with Mentor Handbook of Policies and Practices Opportunities: Go to The Camp and on The Trip for free Resume' building Make a difference |
