Disclaimer: don’t know Garth Brooks or any other famous music groups mentioned. I do know the ladies mentioned in the stories. As for anything this concert never happened. I wrote this as a tribute to September 11, 2001. As the song says: We all came her for a party tonight…

It was to be the concert of the century. Every newspaper, magazine, television and radio stations across America were hyping it up. Garth Brooks was coming out of retirement for a one time concert special to be done with the top male vocal pop group of the century.

Top boy band the Backstreet Boys, were scheduled to be a part of this huge event. Brian was humming with anticipation. He was going to perform live with Garth Brooks, the one thing that he loved the most that the guys would always tease him about.

The papers were calling it a concert where dads would want to hide their daughters and wives. With the boys and Garth back in town the sex appeal was turned up another notch.

“….why not turn it up another notch…” one fan was quoted. “I love both artists. I love Garth for his music and stage presence and Backstreet for the obvious reason of their looks. You have the best stage performer probably since Elvis mix that with the group that have the looks of Elvis.” She said again.

And when the magic happens let it all hang out

If you're gonna jump up and shout

The crowd gathered outside the gates to the field that was being used to house this event. It was being compared to the first Woodstock of the 60s and the Woodstock of the late 90s only without the drugs, sex and rock and roll that was present in both Woodstocks.

One fan, Lisa, was a boiling with the excitement to see both her favorites in one spot on one day and also couldn’t believe the ticket prices. To have Garth Brooks and the Backstreet Boys one would have thought the tickets were going to cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars but for her being in both fan clubs she was able to get them for a mere 50 bucks. As soon as the ‘house’ lights went down and the stage lights went up the crowd started to stomp and sing to the beat was thrumming through the crowd in the cool afternoon sun.

Just to tear it up and to burn it down

The fans that were here were her to have a good ole time with the Country Crooner and the pop of Pop music brought forth by the Backstreet Boys. This event was to be an all nighter with breaks ever few hours for the performers to get reenergized. It was done to help with the events of 9-11. With the Backstreet Boys taking any profits they get to put it into a college fun for the daughter of Dan Lee who lost his life that fatal September morning. Garth was to just give all his profits to a fund for the families of the victims of September 11.

Just because the event was for such a horrific moment it didn’t mean that those that were there live and those at home couldn’t enjoy the sounds and sights of six good looking men. Garth Brooks was set to bring down the house with songs from all of his albums including some special unreleased and unrecorded songs he and his band had done in honor of that day. The Boys had a mixture of some old favorites and new ones along with other songs that were a hint to their upcoming album coming out in early 2003,

The event was an all out music party with few guests not originally set to perform showing up. The biggest surprise was the long since disbanded pop icons of the early 90s New Kids On The Block back with all the same original members. Though a few were looking a little worse than thought. Danny had long since gone gray and had a few crinkly wrinkles at the corners of his eyes but still had the same voice some older pop fans remember, Jonathan looked as though he spent almost his entire fortune on plastic surgery. The other three members still looked relatively the same except little Joey Mac was so little any more and preferred to be called Joe instead of Joey.

The after concert party was just as good if not better. Garth talked to all and everyone that made it to the concert to perform and every lucky fan that was able to get backstage.
