Nick couldn’t look Denise in the eye for fear he would blurt out what is happening to Alexander at the moment. Lisa had told him not to say anything to anyone about Alex or he will be in there with him. Nick had been trying extremely hard not to get on his sister’s bad side since lately it seemed she was moody as all get out. Nick had thought that maybe his sister/mistress was pregnant but it has yet to be confirmed.
“Nickolas?” Denise asked
“Yes Lady De” Nick replied back softly.
“Have you made a decision on what I asked you before I
left?” Denise inquired.
”Yes, I was to think about whether or not I truly wanted to be mated to you for
life. I have thought about it and talked
a lot with Kevin and the other pets but Kevin more since he is in the same
boat, so to speak.” Nick paused for a second to collect his thoughts. “I have decided that I’m still unsure. You’re a strong
beautiful women Mi Lady and it seems that my baby brother has taken quite a
shine to you over the last year. Even
though I have talked extensively with Kevin I am still unsure if I want to
leave my sister.”

”Aaron, how come I had to hear about the newest Carter through the news and not
my own brother?” Lisa asked.
“Well…um…I…” Aaron didn’t have an answer. “I don’t know.”
”Aaron, I let you live with my best friend only because you felt safe when she
was around and I knew she would take care of you and educate you like you
would’ve if you had stayed here but I am still your oldest sister and owner. That is why you are to return here for the
rest of your training and for Arry to grow up as a proper Carter woman.” Lisa
told Aaron.
“But….I wanted to stay with Lady De?” Aaron whined.
”Aaron Charles Carter!” Lisa warned.
Aaron lowered his head in shame.
He knew better than to whine to his sister. “I understand you wish to
remain with De for the remainder of your education but you can’t. The council sent me a letter stating for you
to be able to raise Arry you must remain on my land being educated like
before. Kevin has agreed along with Alex
and Howie to continue your education.
You will also being given a job so you can raise Arry properly. The job will be as Alex’s apprentice in the
fabric shop. I will pay you the going rate that all the apprentices
receive. If you wish you can move into
the main house in your own room with an adjoining room for Arry or you can live
with the other pets in the pet compound.”
Lisa gave Aaron a moment to think it over. “I will be with Nixie while
she learns about proper baby care for Carter James Littrell.
”Yes Mi Lady.” Aaron bowed respectfully as his sister left the room.

Shortly after Aaron left his sister’s room he had bumped into his brother and
sent him. Aaron had a feeling that Lisa needed to have a chat with Nick as
well.
“Sis, Aaron said you wished to see me.” He stated
“Yes, sit.” She commanded. Once he sat down she started, “What are your intentions of mating with Denise for life?” She figured why not get the big one out of the way.
“Um…she asked me but I told her I was unsure if I wanted to leave you.” He bowed his head in shame.
“Nickolas, look at me.” She lifted his chin with a finger, “You have been in love with her since the day you were born and even lately you have wanted nothing else. You light up every time she brought you some newly discovered book for the library.” Lisa said with tears in her eyes.
“I know and I do love her…I just don’t want to not be around
if something bad happens to you again.” He sniffled.
”Nickolas, De’s kingdom isn’t even a day’s ride from here. If something terrible was to happen you know
I have Kevin by my side. Even Brian,
Howie, and Alex would do all they can to make me better. I or Kevin would send someone to get you.”
She told him. “Now I want you to go get yourself bathed and a massage. It will
help loosen those tense muscles and you will be able to think about this a
little better.” She gave him a small kiss on his forehead and shoved him off
towards the bath houses.
“Now, if only I didn’t have brothers.” She sighed. No matter what she wished for she wouldn’t
trade Nick or Aaron for anybody. When she was younger and just starting up her
