Aaron came busting into Lady De's rooms where De, Caryn,
Nick and all De's pets were happily talking. Without even thinking Aaron ran
over to De who opened her arms to him when she saw the massive tears falling
down his face. It was unusual to see a Carter male or female cry. Yet there was
Aaron balling into De's lap soaking the dress she wore.
"Why do you all go to the play room have some fun. Oh
and Chris don't use so much gas this time when you roast the Barbies®." De
said as she softly stroked Aaron's blond hair. What's wrong Air?" she
asked after the pets had left.
"Beth...she..." Aaron paused.
"Nick why don't you walk Caryn back to her room and
tell them I said to pamper her well." De said softly kissing Nick before
sending them in too. Aaron raised his head up when he heard the door shut.
"Now Air tell me what did Beth do?" De asked
caressing his face, cleaning it of tears. No pity or loathing for him in her
fudge brown eyes.
"Beth, she said she made Lisa sick. She said if I... if
I..."
"It's okay you could tell me. You’re my Tigerz."
"Mate." he whispered. "That if I mated with
her she would give me the herbs to make her better. And that if I didn't she'd
let Lisa die." Aaron looked up, the globs of tears in his eyes. "I
couldn't let that happen. I didn't want really I didn't want to but..."
"Shhh its okay Tiger. I have
to show you something Aaron that way you'll understand." De got up and
pulled out an old scroll; the one that has the whole family tree on it. "Tiger do you remember your mother ever talking about your
father's family? Why there were no plans for pets or mating with Beth's
Bloodline like Lauren who's the sweetest person you'd ever meet?"
"I like La I was hoping for her when I was
younger." Aaron said as he dried his eyes.
"It won’t happen I'll show you." De unrolled the
scroll across the bed and traced down to her and Alexander's branch.

"True but keep reading her line." De said watched
as he read on. She knows the instant he read the right line and the meaning of
it hit him.

"Yes, La is a very distant first to Alexander and me
but she's your first cousin. Now I'll tell you something. Beth is already pregnant
to a suitable male. It was all her folly. She must have never really looked at
her line or else this obsession of hers for Nick and you would not be. It's not
your fault. She is power hungry and she sees placing the Carter name on her
unborn child a way to get that power. Before she has her baby and it's proven

noble blood that's under the age of majority."
