JOHNNY STEW's
DOWNLOADS
It's so rare for me to update my site, but I thought I'd try something a little different this time around.
Fleetwood Mac has gained many fans over the last few years, but it seems that many still have had little-to-no exposure to the incarnations of Fleetwood Mac, before Lindsey & Stevie. Which is a pity, since there's a huge amount of really worthwhile music in The Mac's early catalog.

So from time to time, I'd like to make available some of the essential songs recorded by Fleetwood Mac prior to 1975, to give some of the newer/younger fans a chance to hear a little of what the other versions of FM have to offer.

For the first download, I'm sharing "
Oh Well - Part 1."
Both parts of the song are available on the album, 'Then Play On,' and Part 1 was released as a single in 1969 (with "Part 2" as the B-side).

John McVie and Mick Fleetwood bet Peter Green that the single would tank.
Well, they lost that bet: In the states, the single peaked at #55, but in the UK, it peaked at #2.
More importantly, the song has become one of the most enduring tracks of Fleetwood Mac's career, and still gets its share of play on Classic Rock stations. Not to mention having been covered by numerous bands over the years, both famous and obscure.

Enjoy!
"Oh Well - Part 1"
In 1985, Stevie recorded the song "Some Become Strangers," which was co-written by Andy Williams' nephew, David Williams, with Amy LaTelevision and Peter Rafelson.
In turn, David and his twin brother, Andrew, recorded the song "
You Like Me," which was co-written by Stevie and Mike Campbell. The track was released on the Williams Brothers' 1987 album, 'Two Stories.'

Having never appeared on one of Stevie's albums, the song is somewhat rare. Hopefully someday a solo version will surface, but, until then, we have the Williams Brothers' cover!
