| April 18, 2003 - Drama at Ye Olde Watering Hole! |
| Dear Friends, all of you know that I've been avoiding going to Ye Olde Watering Hole for a while. However, I stopped there yesterday and, boy, am I glad I did! Something happened that I've been all a-dither about because it provided me with so much grist for my website-mill. We were all just standing there chatting at the bar when suddenly there was a loud noise of silverware hitting the floor followed by a stream of cursing. Two women had come in, one of whom was already distraught about something, and had sat down at a table. The waitress, Letitia, brought over menues and place settings, but she didn't do it fast enough for the distraught chick, so the belligerent little slut threw her silverware and menu at Letitia and started cursing at her! Letitia went running to the kitchen and fetched Lucinda, who is the manageress; she's also Letitia's cousin. Lucinda told the women they'd have to leave which started another stream of cursing and the nasty wench hit Lucinda! Lucinda's other cousin, who is the cook Renaldo, came running out of the kitchen threatening to kill the distraught girl. Finally Brad, the owner, got involved. He came in and told the girls they were going to have to leave. The distraught one said, "Who the **** are you?" And he said, "I'm the owner and you've got to leave. You can't act that way in here." She started cursing again, so Brad went and called the police. In the meantime Lucinda's getting all involved again, when she should have just left well enough alone, and finally Jason, the bartender, had to grab the distraught girl and pin her arms behind her back! All the while her friend is yelling, "You take your hands off her! Don't you touch her!" Then one of the customers, whom I'll call "Vera" and who is really weird, tried to do an "intervention" like she was some kind of psychologist! Good Lord! The rest of us were all just standing there laughing and JOHNNYLEEN said he wanted to sign up at the distraught girl's charm school so he could learn to behave like that. They finally got the girl out the door, but she only skulked a few yards away. I think she may have been looking for an opportunity to come back in and cause trouble or maybe to break the front window. The police finally showed up and Brad pointed her out to them. They went out and arrested her. We all think she'll be charged with assault. Now Jason thinks that all the girl needed was for someone to be nice to her; that she had come in upset already because no one has ever been kind to her. I think that's a crock and I told him so. I don't care how unkind you think life has been to you; you don't go to a restaurant and throw stuff at the staff. Also, this girl, who looked about 17, was nicely dressed and her hair was styled well. Someone else said that he thinks she'll be locked up and made to take anger management classes. Jason then said that that was too bad, that she should have been given an opportunity to learn self control on her own. Well, JOHNNYLEEN would have none of that! I told Jason that people who need anger management classes normally don't realize they need them until they've seriously hurt someone. So there! The Great and Powerful JOHNNYLEEN has spoken.
