Ron Weasley winced, rubbing his calf to ease the cramping that was starting in his muscles as he stubbornly remained
tucked away in his hiding place behind one of the massive armchairs in the Gryffindor common room.
The reason for the youngest male of the Weasley clan to be huddled in the shadows? His twin brothers, Fred and George.
They'd apparently been sneaking out of the dormitories after curfew, and staying out half the night. The two seventh-years
had thought they were getting away with it, but they were wrong. They happened to choose the night before a nasty potions
exam to slip out, not noticing the slight figure that had fallen asleep over her textbooks in a far corner of the room.
Hermione had debated for the better part of a day about whether or not to tell Ron what she'd seen, but in the end had managed to corner him in a corridor just as he and Harry were heading for the dormitory. Ron hadn't been too surprised, considering that it was the twins who had presented Harry with the Marauder's map a few years ago. He knew they'd made a habit of sneaking out and wandering the corridors for years, but he was still a bit concerned. The professors were patrolling the hallways more than ever now, with Filch coming up with ever-increasingly unpleasant detentions, and Ron didn't exactly like the thought of his brothers being caught, and bringing McGonagall's wrath down on all their heads.
The next evening Ron had waited in the common room, thinking he would persuade his brothers to stave off their mischief
making, if only for a little while, but to no avail. He'd been told to basically mind his own business, and that his big
brothers were more than capable of taking care of themselves.
Of course, Ron had immediately experienced a surge of Weasley stubbornness. Hence, here he sat, in the dark, waiting for
his brothers to sneak out again so he could follow them and see exactly what was so important that the twins would risk
getting slapped with severe point deductions, and horrid detentions.
"Well, come on then!" Ron muttered impatiently, trying desperately not to move about too much. He bit his lip as the
muscles in both legs began to cramp viciously. *Bloody hell, if those two don't hurry up, I won't be able to follow them at
all.* He thought with a frown.
Finally, the pair in question crept down the stairs, snickering softly as they exchanged playful swats, wrestling with each
other on their way to the door. Ron's eyes widened as he witnessed what appeared to be a kiss between the two, before they
darted out into the corridor.
"No....no way!" Ron whispered, staring after the two teens incredulously. "They...I didn't just see what I thought I saw, did
I?" The shocked fifth-year asked, shaking his head briefly before struggling painfully to his feet.
As he staggered down the hall toward the fat lady's portrait, a soft sound was heard. Almost like...someone letting out a breath they'd been holding. Under a soft, lightweight cloak, a pair of unseen emerald green eyes stared at the now-empty hallway. "It can't be..." Harry Potter murmured, swaying slightly in shocked disbelief, before he narrowed his eyes, jaw clenching as the teen swept out of the room, following his best friend.
Gaaaaah, I did it, I got sucked into HP fanfiction!!!
