Set List: Poker
              Oxo Cube
              The thoughts of a prince
You're so thick you're proud of it
              Dubya
              Sincerely Sexy
              Tainted Love
Of all the gigs that I have ever been to, this is the one that I have most looked forward to, and of course it did not disapoint. Chemosh were drawn first on the night, and in my oppinion played out a fairly average set, musicians were good, vocals could have been better, system of a down sprung to mind. Then JF were on, from the 1st song we saw an even better performance than anything in the previous round, the sound on poker was amazing, and it just got better and better. When you have a song in your head the next day you know its good, and Youre so thick has been in my head all day, again another outstanding performance. Dubya and thoughts were one more fantastic, and sincerely sexy was played out in style. To finish was a revamped version of Tainted Love from the previous round, and it did not fail to impress, being compared with bands such as The living ends cover of the same track. Next up were Deff By Stereo who played out an excellent set, with the mosh pit to match. Very impressive sound and very impressive vocals, one of the better new nu-metal outfits.
Then came the result. Best musician went to the spiky haired guy out of Chemosh. The winner of the rock contest..........Chemosh? Not quite what we all wanted to hear, but the bruised and bloody nose was well worth it for seeing the magnificent Johnny Fontaine.
July 10th 2001: Harlow Square supporting The Crocketts
Line up: Simon,Matt,Richard,Ben
Set List:Too True
             Thoughts of a Prince
You're so thick you're proud of it
              Poker
              Oxo Cube
              Sincerely Sexy
              Moving Out
              Tainted Love
This was JF's first major gig appearance and they certainly did not disappoint
they started off with Too True a new song  which was what could be described in my eyes
as lyrical genius. From the start the band was well received  by the crowd. The classics
were performed better than ever, poker being one of the best performances of
the set list in my opinion. Thoughts of a prince is growing on me everyday and was
played out in style. Moving Out was first rate, with it seeming that Simon
is looking to prove the versatility of his voice by reaching the very high notes.
Then it came to Tainted love.......i was literally amazed, the band looked like
veterans, not like a band playing only their 5th major gig, and first supporting role,
their performance and confidence were amazing and could not be faulted finishing
in spectacular fashion, ready for The Crocketts to perform.
September 9th 2001: Harlow Square, headling indie rock night
Supporting acts: Kneel, Hi-Jinx
Set List: Poker
              You're so thick....
              Follow Convention
              Sincerely Sexy
              Oxo Cube
              Thoughts of a prince
              Moving out
              Tainted Love
              Take it easy chicken
First band on were kneel, and once more after seeing them in the rock contest, there technical ability was excellent, superb vocal abilities. Some very catchy songs and a superb choice for supporting JF. Next on were Hi-Jinx, varied music style, ranging from acoustics to ska/punk style songs, in my view not quite as impressive as kneel, but still a great up and coming band. Then the tane took the stage with a newly produced banner in the background. Started with poker which is slowly becoming one of my favourite tracks, and after a few months rest from seeing JF there sound is still as good as ever. Next few songs included new song Follow Convention which went down well with the audience, but in all fairness the boys needed to make it shine considering it was followed by well known Sincerely Sexy, becoming a classic in its own right. Followed by Oxo Cube....yet not dedicated to the waitrose possee this time (probably because none of them were there, except fellow groupie Martin Harrison). After thoughts of a prince, Simon once more showed his vocal flexibity with new song Moving out. Then came the usual Tainted Love, with slight adjustments at the end resulting in a stunning finale....but no this was no finale...after chants of "more, more" by the crowd the tane decided on doing an classic from the old days, Mansun cover Take it easy chicken...we wanted yet more...but unfortunately JF left the stage leaving their mark on The Square once more, perhaps soon we'll be seeing this amazing four peice in bigger venues which they are worthy of.

Oh a little comment...James fucking Rudd i don't give a fuck about my grammatical shiteness....it wouldn't be the same web page without it.....
