Re-Moments
She wanted to keep a photograph
Of that time we saw each other again
She was nice to see again in those clothes
Without the frown on her face and that tension held tightly in her hand Ready to throw at me with any wrong word to come out of my mouth
She told me I was dressed nice and could pass for a model
I said "thanks, you do too"
And she did too
Everything was nice for once
I closely listened to every word she said
And was careful with every word I said
We both knew that the past was still stuck on our backs with post-it notes
Walking and riding these new rides at the park
Her hand brushed mine
We both knew it was over
So we just ignored it and went on
I smiled on the way home that night
I thought about it plenty
The more I pondered it
The more I cried
I knew it was over
I knew we shouldn't have met
It was against my beliefs
It was just a bad idea
Look at me now
I think we just started something new again
Not again
