| Remembering David She loved him so It wasn't hard to tell Pictures on her wall and in her mind Told the stories of a time When for her the world around her was nothing but a blur All she saw was him She cries at nights reading the notes he wrote to remind her how much he loves her She still remembers Sometimes Marie plays out in her mind A different ending that saved his life She played out the times when she stood over his bed Just him and her all alone His eyes were closed and his skin was so cold She cried while she prayed for the cancer in his bones to go away Marie took Davids hand and placed his fingers between hers and they held hands for the rest of his life She watched him breath Thinking one day he may someday kiss her again like no one ever has She cries at nights reading the notes he wrote to remind her just how much he loves her She still remembers Marie wanted to cut out the cancer that was taking him away from her Her only true love She swears she saw his soul rise and wave goodbye after he took his last gasp of air When she is all alone she can feel his arms around her, keeping her safe The only thing keeping her alive is her memories and his pictures and the fact that she knows if she lives like him then she will soon see him with angel wings with the world below Marie lays in bed dreaming of the time when she will see him with angel wings and how they will hold hands and he will kiss her again like no one ever has while flying above the world She still sometimes plays out in her mind A different ending that saved his life An ending that never happened David is still gone Marie is all alone |
