Don't Hold Your Breath

Almost 14 years ago from today
Everything was changed slightly from what it would be like if she was still here
Car crashes take a new meaning
When it's more than just the rubber tires, dented metal, broken glass
And headlights still burning strong
There was a girl in that car
With a father and mother and brother and sister at home sleeping
Everything she touched before she was crushed by the car
Seemed to take on a whole new meaning
Just like shes there in the cloth of her clothes
14 years later
Every car crash or car problem brings back
The memories of that short time with my sister
I let it eat away at what I have left
And I end the conversation before I start to cry
I just dont want to talk about it tonight, tomorrow or ever
I dont want to ever forget about her
I'll always say I have two sisters
Crashes wont end everything
But they change things just enough to be noticed if you look at the effects of everything
It was dark and I was asleep
She was awake wishing she was asleep
Anything to keep from feeling the pain
That the drunk murderer put upon her
I'd switch my body with hers if I could
I still remember her face
