MCHENRY
This county's list does not distinguish between parcels with structures
and vacant lots. We are working to get you more detailed information. These properties will not be available until November 21, 2000.
(The McHenry County auditor jotted "all vacant lots" on this list.)

ADVENTURES IN TAX FORFEITED PROPERTY -- A funny thing happened in McHenry County. I tried to purchase a ten dollar lot in Bantry City. However, in the process of recording my deed, the auditor found an error that was made in 1955. A piece four feet wide was left off the description by mistake, and the owner of the property adjacent had been paying taxes on the four foot strip since 1955. The county commission had to meet and decide that this parcel should not be sold, and refunded my money. This appears to be the most excitement Bantry City has had for a long time, and makes me want to purchase MORE property there.
