For over $300, payments may be made in full or 1/4 of the purchase price, the balance in equal installments of $300 or more, not to exceed a period of ten years, the unpaid balance to bear interest at the rate of 10 percent per anum.

We spoke with Leo Kram, the auditor in Wales City. He states that none of the tax forfeited properties in that city have buildings, but he also didn't sound too terribly sure. Kram did, however, offer to sell us an old schoolhouse which he personally owns, throwing out the figure of $5,000. (We think he'd take less). He states the building is 60 x 60, built in 1936, mostly brick but with "lots of wood in it."
"Boy, it's good wood, too," Kram said, with enthusiasm. "Hardly a knot in it." Kram says he has been using the building for storage for his implement dealership, driving machinery into the gym of the building, but he is getting out of the business. Despite his eagerness to sell the building, he has not listed it with any real estate company. His phone number is 701-283-5151 and his mailing address is PO Box 145, Wales ND 58281. Kram states there is an empty house across from the schoolhouse, which is not livable right now, and which the owners might be getting set to bulldoze because they are tired of paying taxes on an empty building.
