Note from John:
After having billing problems with my previous webhost, I
made the decision a couple of years ago to take down my website. The time involved
in maintaining it was not possible to
fit into my current schedule.
I still receive e-mails from the Romans 9 article, even
though it has not been available on my own website for over two years. Due to
the interest in it, and because I believe it is a much needed rebuttal to the erronious
handling of the Bible seen in Dr. James Whites "The Potters Freedom",
I have decided to put it back on the internet for download.
Please do not be disappointed if I do not take the time to
give a detailed and lengthy response to your email questions. I simply do not
have the time as I am engaged in other activities now.
After 3 years, i have yet to see any response from
Calvinists that amounts to much more than Ad-hominem. There is only one attempt
to correct my "anti-calvinist" errors on the internet which does appear
to be written by an individual who made a sincere effort to look at my point of
view.
Yet the author ends up summarizing my study as a
"Nations vs Individuals" argument, and then gives the classic
Calvinist response to Arminianism. It made no effort to deal with the REAL
Biblical points I made.
A quick search of my screen name in a search engine will
turn up a half dozen or so Calvinist message boards, where I am attacked with
ad-hominem and no serious attempt to look at, let alone refute my position is
made.
On one board one courageous individual pointed out the merits of a couple of the points I made. His messages still remain but his account has been banned.
After three years, there still has been no real response from James White or
others. I must conclude that my primary thesis stands irrefutable. That is, that God is only portrayed as a
Potter over Israel in scripture.
The study made an exhaustive presentation, in which every
passage of scripture in which God was portrayed as a Potter was covered. There really
is NO WAY to refute this point while still accepting the scriptures as
authoritative.
Presuming to go beyond scripture, and portraying God as a
Potter over individuals, is a libery James White has taken in his articulation
of the hypercalvinist view. And his representation of God has here been proven
to be extra-biblical.
God bless,
John

Have you heard Calvinists talk about
Romans chapter 9? Did the Apostle Paul really teach the same thing as
they say he did?
Consider these quotations from James R. White, referring to the vessels in Romans 9: "Are these nations? Classes? No, these are sinners upon whom God's wrath comes. They are said to have been specifically 'prepared for destruction.' That is their purpose." - James R. White, (2000), The Potters Freedom, p214 "A vessel of wrath is one prepared for destruction that will experience God's wrath ..." - James R. White, (2000), The Potters Freedom, p226 James Whites position might lead a person to believe that God does not Love everyone. In fact, White argues that God hated Esau, even though many other Calvinist scholars, including John Calvin, rejected such an extreme idea. Is James Whites position really what Paul was intending to say when he wrote the book of Romans? The answers to these questions and many more are given in JohnnyDZ's study on Romans chapter nine. It is a Biblical study of Romans Chapter nine which answers all your questions about this difficult chapter. It demolishes the entire thesis of James White's The Potters Freedom, and will give you a new understanding of this passage of scripture. |
