Johnnie Johnson on tour in Sweden
Johnnie Johnson will go on tour in Sweden for ten shows, February 5th - Feb 15th. It is the first time he will tour as a solo artist in Sweden. His first concert in Sweden was in Norrköping, October 28th 1984, together with Chuck Berry. Next time was also with Chuck Berry, July 1987, in Stockholm, Båstad and Luleå. Johnnie also does a show in Stockholm 1989 at Jazz & Blues All Star Festival, together with St. Louis Kings of Rhythm (Oliver Sain etc). This year he will tour together with top ranked swedish musicans Sven Zetterberg (guitar/vocal), Ingemar Dunker (drums), Tommy Cassemar (bass) and Micke Finell (saxophone). Here is all dates on the tour: Gävle (Feb 5), Falun (Feb 6), Kalix (Feb 7), Umeå (Feb 8), Uppsala (Feb 10), Stockholm (Feb 11), Skövde (Feb 12), Göteborg (Feb 13), Karlskrona (Feb 14), Sala (Feb 15).

I'm Just Johnnie - New Johnnie Johnson CD
Johnnie Johnson is busy in the studio, putting the finishing touches on his new CD called "I'm Just Johnnie". The CD has several original songs written by Johnnie and his friend Gene Ackmann from Butch Wax & The Hollywoods. The CD is planned for release in summer 2003. Remakes include "Stagger Lee", "Let the Good Times Roll", and "Every Day I Have the Blues". Other songs penned by Johnson and Ackmann for the CD include the title track "I'm Just Johnnie", "Somethin's Goin On", "Not in the Mood", "I'm a Boogie Woogie Man", "Heebie Jeebies", "The Day My Baby Broke the Bank", "I Get So Weary", "Johnnie's Blues", "Back to Fairmont", and "Not in My House". Dickie Steltenpohl is a co-writer on two of the songs as is Dan Hommes.
