John's first album released in 1985 under the Rhythmic Record label was controversial at the time and led a number of listeners to take things into their own hands on occassions. Today tracks like 'Pretty Lady' seem real politically correct in many ways and one is left wondering just what the hell all that violence was about.
But, the overtones in other tracks didn't help and that was the eighties, 'Womans Lib', 'Eco-terrorism', and 'French Terrorism' abounded in New Zealand. The times were really changing, and everyone was affected or perhaps infected in some way.
