The total number of hours needed for graduation is 230.

The credit hours earned determine grade placement.  A failing grade earns no credit hours.


0-55        credit hours 9th grade
60-115    credit hours 10th grade
120-175   credit hours 11th grade
180-230   credit hours 12th grade

Additionally, juniors and seniors who are college bound are encouraged to take the following tests administered in surrounding schools:

The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) may be taken by students in the fall of their junior.  This test is the only means of qualifying for a National Merit Scholarship.  The scores on the PSAT are also a prediction of how students will do on the SAT.

The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is given five times a year.  It is also a college admission test.  Seniors are advised to take the ACT or SAT in the fall.  Juniors may opt to take this in the spring of their junior year.

The American College Test (ACT) is given five times a years and is a college admissions test.  It is also the only way to qualify for a Michigan competitive scholarsihp and tuition grant.
