Taiwan's (not so) Subtle Racism


The large Chinese characters in the picture to the right say , which translates into black person. Apparently, this stems from the notion that black people have nice white teeth.
At one time, this toothpaste's English name was the even more outragous name Darkie.
Strangely enough, small travel-tubes of Whiteman toothpaste can also be found.
As can these travel-tubes of Greenman toothpaste.



This tasteless fashion outlet can be found in the expat-frought area of Tianmu.
