The History of the Tol Taurea

    When Mesmerallun's plagues came to Syndar, many of the Syndarin felt that they could never find security on Fäedór, and so sought out another haven where they could further the study of wizardry in peace.  It did not take long for Tol Taurea ("forested isle") to be discovered.  There remains much debate over who actually discovered the island, and there are some who debate if it was not so much discovered as revealed to the Syndarin by a higher power, often suggesting Mystrodhe, in order that wizardry be maintained.  In any case, the island became the haven that many Syndarin sought and the 4th century brought a steady migration and saw many of the island's bastions of learning constructed.
