The History of the Church of Pontos Solostrian
By Fingolf Sharstenshar, Knight of Pontos Solastrian
Chapter One
To understand the ideals and motivations of the Church of Pontos Solostrian, one must look at the life of this God, to understand his motivations, and his sudden emergence into the battle between the Mesmeratim and the Elven Nations.
Pontos Solostrian was born in Sylvas in 100 FS to Sandar and Morbana Solostrian, who belonged to a clan of warriors and rangers.  Sandar Solostrian was considered one of the greatest swordsmen in Sylvas. Morbana Solostrian was a ranger without peer, who knew the Syvan wood like the back of her hand.  Together they raised Pontos Solostrian to follow their footsteps as both a warrior and a ranger, since he was their only child.
Pontos rose quickly through the ranks of the military of Sylvas and in time he was considered equal to his mother and father in the military arts.  Then
one day while he was walking through the academy of sorcery, he caught the sight of a elven women who took his breath away.
Her name was Syndara Taurea, a elven academician who unlike most of her colleagues did not have the spark of Sorcery, but had to depend on wizardry to understand magic.  Thus Syndara was one of the first true Syndaran elves, and destined to be one the greatest wizardesses in the history of Fäedór. She was taken aback by Pontos Solostrian advances, since she was very shy and understanding magic was her love and passion.  Also, there was the fact that she was a noble elf and even though considered one of the greatest warriors of his time, Pontos was not of noble blood.  But, Pontos and Syndara found an uncommon love and they agreed to marry to the displeasure of Syndara's parents.
At this time in the academy and throughout the whole of Sylvas culture the subrace of elves, who did not have a name other than the wizards were
chafing under the rule of sorcerous sylvan elves.  They wanted a place of their own away so they could study the beauty of wizardry.  A safe haven and so they turned to the most promising wizard of their kind, Syndara Taurea to voice the concerns of this new elven subrace.  She, though reluctant, took up the responsibility and presented the proposal of a large migration of Syndarin elves out of Sylvas to find a new home, where they can study and experiment with wizardry alone.  In the year 283, the request was granted and most of the Syndarin wizards left the city and the search for a new city where wizardry not sorcery was king, proceeded.  Pontos, of course set aside his commission in the Sylvas army and surprisingly with his mother and father left the city of Sylvas.  Many other elves other than the Syndarin wizards left Sylvas, many for the adventure and excitement of founding a new city, some a chance to start over, maybe to follow loved ones who were Syndarin, others just because Sylvas was overcrowded.
For a year the elves looked for an suitable place for their new city.  Then one day while Pontos and his mother were scouting in front of the caravan, they came upon a beautiful valley that was perfect for the new city.  Since Pontos was the first to view the valley, when the council of wizards decided that is was to become their new city, they asked him what the name of the new city should be he stated "I name it Syndar, after my true love."  The elves accepted this name happily and in 285 founded the city of Syndar, with a council of elven wizards led by Syndara Taurea and the military led by Pontos's father Sandar.
