I think bagpipers are frequently unfairly maligned. It's true that a bad
bagpiper is worse than almost anything else, with the possible
exception of a bad oboist. But a good bagpiper is as pleasant to
hear as any other instrumentalist. The only problem is that all
bagpipe music starts to sound the same pretty quickly.
