| Lcpl Kev Maher, joined the dog section at Kineton in 1975, we went to the RAVC Depot to learn the basics of being a dog handler and all that entails. No one warns you that you have to learn about the dogs health and minor ailments, but yes it was an enjoyable course and one I would reccomend to any one with an interest in animals especially dogs. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| For those of you who have never been to Kineton the dog kennels are just inside the compound as you pass through the MOD Police gate, where if you're unlucky you might be called into the gatehouse for a contaband search. The taking of smoking materials into the compound is frowned upon due to safter reasons, if you need to take your ciggies into the depot you must hand them over to the MOD Police and have them put into a secure box. Many a soldier male and female have been caught trying to smuggle them into the depot, you will be surprised at the various places they find to hide them. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The daily task of a dog handler, patrol depot until the normal days work begins in the depot, humping ammo boxes around for the RAOC and the WRAC. Followed by feeding and cleaning the dogs, grooming and exercise and further continuation training, trying to fit in breakfast where you can. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
