John Harms' Art

By the way, I am a Computer Science major with a Mathematics minor... :)

A 'quick' preface to my poetry & art
Basically some quick background information, blurbs, and legal stuff.

May 22-25, 1998:

(Front view) .. I had some scented candles burning in my bedroom to set
the mood and give it a good smell. I noticed a big pool of wax doing
nothing around the flame except hindering it from burning. So, I decided
to take a piece of paper and pour the wax on it to create some kind of
design. I really had no plan on what it would look like, I just started
pouring... In the end, I ended up with 5 colors: clear, blue, red,
green, and an off-white. All of the colors don't show very well because I
used a flatbed scanner to scan this in, and the art work is not very flat.

(Back view) .. I thought it was interesting the way the wax art looked on
the bottom side of the piece of paper, as well as the top. It kind of
makes it a seperate piece of art work altogether.

June 3-7, 1998:

(Front view) .. Yep -- I keep burning those candles and getting
creative! I felt inspired to do something a little different than the
first one, but not too different. In the end of that piece, I decided
to do a face. It's not happy. It's not sad. It's reality...
I expanded my thoughts further with the third creation...

(Back view) .. Same thoughts as last time I did a back view scan :)
