Take me in
then throw me out
that’s what life
is all about.
Accepted here
but not there
I see it happen
almost everywhere.
Go to college
to get that degree
make new friends
one, two, or three.
Watch them leave you
on your worst day
and you’re going to graduate
sometime in May.
It’s the new year
and what the hell
things are still going wrong
what’s good, I can’t tell.
Leave me alone
just let me be
I want to sit here
in my own misery.
Now flush the throne
watch it all go down
and hope the good stuff
doesn’t drown.
